Eating with other people

It is often said that eating with other people is a mark of civilisation. This civilisation is expressed by people eating with their mouths open, masticating noisily, removing half-eaten food from their mouths, spitting out bones and pips, chewing very slowly in a cowlike fashion, gobbling, clattering cutlery on the plates, talking or snorting while eating, spilling food down their fronts, smearing the table with gravy, swilling wine around their palates, smacking their lips, quaffing vast amounts of beer and ale, licking ice-cream in a provocative manner, clicking their false teeth, sneezing food across the table, belching, vomiting, or blowing their noses on napkins. How much further can it be developed?

The greater the hope, the less the fulfilment.
The brighter the button, the duller the wearer.
